A vent
I was happily snuggled in my bed last night and having funky dreams about weird stuff when I heard the sound of voices. I slowly started to wake up and realized the voices were right outside my bedroom window. I could tell that the women were drunk, as they seemed to have no understanding of "inside voice." I checked the clock. 3:28. I heard one remark to the other "don't worry, everyone is sleeping" and another comment about who could pee the fastest. I couldn't listen anymore without fear I would run out of my apartment in my underwear to berate the "ladies" relieving themselves five feet from my bed. I decided to use my facilities (novel idea) while I calmed down. By the time I returned to my room, the voices had moved on, into a nearby apartment (which apparently has a broken toilet). I peeked. Yep, pee. Outside. My. Window. Ick. Big Ick.

Wednesday again
The malaise has gone with the vomiting, thank goodness. Now I'm up for some normal life. I washed the dishes, which is a good start. I also finished the last pair of Christmas socks (yay) and am working on the last (semi) Christmas present for 2009. And then I will start planning for Christmas 2010. Actually, plan is made, no yarn bought yet. HOWEVER, I have several projects to finish before I can let myself start the new ones. And today the assassin packets were sent out for the SockWars. I should be receiving my target and all the information necessary to cast on a pair of socks in an expeditious fashion. I am just hoping my target is not in China, or this whole thing will be done before I even start :)
Sweater, mittens, socks, and some more sweaters are on my to-do list for the next 2 months. March will be Christmas present knitting factory (you can just address my mail "sweat shop in Billings" once I get going!).
As for the rest of life. . .laundry needs done. I need to vacuum. I need to take a walk. Now that I am over the stomach bug, I need a reboot.

Ick
Two days of ick. Gross feeling, reclining on the couch watching bad daytime TV ick. Well, last night at this time I felt a lot better, woke up feeling better. . . then got worse as the day went on. I'm hoping that my better feeling tonight is a sign that tomorrow will be better. Sick is not the primary word I was hoping to use to refer to the MLK, Jr. weekend, as I was hoping to be productive. Well, I did do some knitting (which I plan to sterilize before sending to the recipient).

can't sleep
I don't know why I can't sleep right now. I was up before 6 AM and had no naps. I did have some caffeine. . .HOURS ago. It normally doesn't throw me off my sleeping pattern like this, though. I have been trying to think of something productive to do in the meantime. I feel like an addict on some sort of high or a person with BiPolar Disorder who is in a manic phase. . .look out neighbors, it just might be time to run the vacuum!
The last time I had this much trouble sleeping was when I was on 12 hour allergy medicine. I would go to bed at 12:30 or so and wake up, completely wake up, at about 4:30 AM. I usually felt like the energizer bunny. . .ready to keep going and going. I stopped taking that medicine after that. I don't need to get by on a couple hours of sleep a night (and isn't there something else I could do for my allergies?).
I already finished the dishes earlier tonight. I suppose I could move some stuff around in the spare room or read some more in a book. I tried reading earlier and it was going well--my eyes were getting heavy and I was feeling sleepy. Then I turned off the light, snuggled into my bed, and was wide awake. No good.
I tried watching some TV but there wasn't anything that interested me enough to watch it until I could doze off. Plus I can watch about 3 channels right now, which doesn't help with the finding a show to watch. I am too restless to knit and now my stomach is upset.
I will blame the tires outside my door. I am sure if they were not there I could sleep, but I am so worried that I will trip over them tomorrow or the next day that I am tossing and turning in fear.

Monday
Today was cookie day, which happens to be about my favorite day of the week. It started out especially well with visits from several students right off the bat in the morning. It is nice to see students coming to see me and say hello.
I gave away all the cookies. I made a pretty good estimate of what I would need, so I'm glad I got so close. I had to find a few people to eat the last 2 cookies or so--not bad! I caught up with some people and may have found myself a personal trainer (who needs some class credit, which could be earned by training someone or helping me lose weight, or preparing me for a triathlon, I don't know which--either way it will work out for both of us if he gets some class credit and I get a free trainer).
It is nice to have the students back. I was hoping to tidy up my office just a bit more, but I'm happy I got to see everyone today that came through. I'm also helping to get Mary situated (however I can) and she and I went to look at paint this afternoon.
Tomorrow will be busy--some meetings, and chapel, then I have to pack a bag for my overnight trip to Helena.

Sunday=baking day
Today's treats include: sugar cookies (6.5 dozen), no bake cookies (7.5 dozen), oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (5 dozen). We will see how far they go tomorrow. I'm thinking people will be just getting back to school and just back from home so cookies may not be high on the list of priorities. . .but seeing me? That may be on the list.
Today was a quiet day. All day I was thinking 'I am supposed to be doing something right now.' I couldn't think of what that might be. I was invited to a meeting, but I wasn't going to be able to make it. Luckily, I got about 2 hours of talk time with the boy. Bonus. Of course, I won't expect to hear from him for two days, as his ear has melted off his head :)

Saturday running
And by running I am referring to the hours of errands I did today. Then I ran up and down the stairs unloading all the supplies I had bought at Costco. When I went to Target & MRM, the bags were small --I could carry them simultaneously.
I built some shelves and am happy to have cleaned out a closet, although it seems like there is never as much storage as you anticipate when you get new storage supplies. I could use another set of shelves (but have no place for them to go). I still have too many piles of things in the kitchen, too! Well, I may stop back over at MRM to pick up a little cabinet I saw. Perfect island for this tiny kitchen (once it gets a nice coat of paint or something).
